A Story About a Cat :3
It was the dead of night when it happened. Something was wrong, but she couldn't figure out what.
A cold sweat drenched her skin and she could feel bile rising in her throat. The quiet was off-putting for the time of year.
She was used to waking up on these summer nights to the sounds of crickets and children up way too late through her cracked window.
Tonight was different, though. All she could hear was a faint buzzing coming from the fan pointed at her and her girlfriend's bed.
The strange silence was broken by a faint mewing sound coming from the end of the bed. She looked down to see their cat looking at her. Staring at her.
She had always adored her cat. She remembered the day that she and her girlfriend picked him up from the shelter fondly. She tried to pet him through the cage bars, and when she did, he purred and stuck his teenie-tiny tongue out. She remembered how much she loved his cute little eyes and told her girlfriend that he was practically begging her to bring him home with them, and she agreed. Those same cute eyes were now staring through her. A chill ran up her spine. Normally she was fine to have him sleep in there with them, but she was already creeped out.
"Come here, buddy," she cooed, scooping him up into her arms carrying him across the bedroom, and shutting him outside the door.
She laid back down in bed, her stomach still feeling a bit nauseous, but eventually, she settled, embracing her girlfriend from behind and closing her eyes.
"Mrrrrup," she heard at the bottom of the bed.
Confused, she opened her eyes and there he was. He once again sat at the foot of the bed as if she had never moved him to begin with. He did the same as before, he stared at her.
A little shaken, she'd assumed she must have fallen back asleep before she moved him.
"You can't sleep in here tonight, Cobie," She lifted him up and shut him out of the room again.
When she turned back around there were two of him sitting on her bed staring at her just the same.
She began to shake her girlfriend awake now fully terrified by the situation, but when she tried to.
"Mrrrooow."
